Tanaka produces exhibitions, performances, and various projects under the theme of “disability as a perspective that redefines the world”. She attempts to interpret the way we perceive expressions with the audience including people with disabilities. Her recent projects include Dance Work in Progress with Creative Audio Descriptions (KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre and various venues, 2017-ongoing), the film NIGHT CRUISING (2019), the exhibition Rules? (2022), and the exhibition Ways of Telling (2022). In 2022, She conducted research on the disability culture in New York as a visiting scholar at New York University Center for Disability Studies with a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council. Adjunct Lecturer at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Institute for Liberal Arts. Currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program of Waseda University Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences.
