Born in 1948 . Studied Art History and graduated from the Tokyo University. Curator at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Kobe in 1973-1978. During that time, sent from the Hyogo Prefecture as an honorary scholarship of the Spanish Government to the Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo, Madrid in 1980-1981 . Chief curator at the Nagoya City Art Museum in 1987-2001. Worked as a professor at the Kinjo Gakuin University in 2001~2017. Worked as an international jury at the “Asian=European Biennale” in 1991, at Ankara,Turkey; as a commissioner at the special exhibition “Jiro Yoshihara and the ‘Gutai’ in The 45th Venice Biennale in 1993; as a commissioner of Japan at the 24th & 25th “São Paulo Biennale” in 1998 & 2003. Worked as a curator of the exhibitions as follows: The group ‘Gutai’-Action & Painting, Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo,Madrid; National Museum of Modern Art,Beograd,1985-86; Homage to Catalonia-Barcelona Art City, Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Modern Art,Hyogo,Japan,etc.; Seven Artists-Aspects of Contemporary Japanese Art, Santa Monica Museum of Contemporary Art, etc.,1991-92: Exhibition Red Grooms, Nagoya City Art Museum, etc. in 1993.; Between Heaven and Earth-Aspects of Japanese Contemporary ArtⅡ, Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art, Mexico D.C .Mexico, etc. Circulating Currents-Japanese & Korean Contemporary Art, Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art; Nagoya City Art Museum in 1995.
