Director of Hongo Shin Memorial Museum of Sculpture, Sapporo. Born in Tomamae-cho, Hokkaido in 1962. Involved as a curator at Museum of Contemporary Art, Sapporo (Current name : Sapporo Art Museum), which opened in 1990, from the preparatory stage, and deputy director since 2008. After working as associate director at Japan Foundation for Regional Art-Activities, and program director at the Sapporo Cultural Arts Exchange Center SCARTS. Current position since April 2021. Member of Hokkaido art critic magazine “Art Pen”.

Curated Exhibition: Sculpture exhibitions such as “Gstav Vigeland Exhibition” (1995). Exhibitions that reexamine the history of Sapporo’s art auch as “Painters at Nakane Residence ” (2000), “Art of Sapporo in the Showa 30’s” (2010). And many exhibitions centered on sculpture and Sapporo art, including retrospective exhibitions of artists from Sapporo, and a projects to introduce contemporary art from Hokkaido.
