Visiting Professor at Kyoto University of Arts, Part-time Lecturer at Kyoto City University of Arts.
Born in Tokyo in 1959, graduated from Tama Art University in 1986, and completed graduate studies at Kyoto City University of Arts in 1990. Worked as a curator at Otani Memorial Art Museum, Nishinomiya and The National Museum of Art, Osaka. Major exhibitions include “Shintaro Tanaka: Canon of Eloquence and Silence” (2001), “Mono-ha: Reconsideration” (2005), “Methods of Worldmaking” (2011), “Fiona Tan: Poetics of the Gaze” (2014-15), ” Christian Boltanski – Lifetime” (2019-20), among others.
