Art Critic (AICA) Professor Emeritus of Seian University of Art and Design
Born in Manchuria in １９３５. Graduated from Sophia Univ., Foreign Language Dept.
After working for 6 years in the Japanese Embassy in Uruguay, returned to Japan and started a new charge as Secretary-General of the Japan Art Festival Association which had been promoting international cultural exchanges with a assistance of local institutions like Guggenheim Museum in NY or the Ministory of Culture in France. The contents of the exhibits were contemporary art works selected through the open competitions and performances by various Japanese traditional artists. After dissolution of the mentioned association, participated in setting off the first art museum which dedicates to contemporary art in Tokyo in 1977. The museum was inaugurated in 1979 with the name of Hara Museum of Contemporary Art and was appointed as the Deputy Director and the Chief Curator of the same. For 17 years having worked at the curatorial section, was invited to be a professor at the newly established Seian University of Art and Design in Kyoto area. Since 1994 started a new life teaching programs like “Contemporary Arts”, “Cultural Institutions”, “Art Managements” and “Museum Studies” and ended in 2001 completed the contract.
Besides, many ocasions of competition jury, lecturer, art criticism writer, advisor for foreign embassies in Japan. Decorated “Ordem de Rio Branco” by Brazilian Government in 1991.
